Both Sean and Shelley love to travel the world in search of new waves and cultures to find that little piece of un-crowded paradise. They have surfed in places from the Arctic Circle in Norway to the islands of Fiji and Indonesia.
Surfing Australia Level 1 and Level 2 coaching accreditation, APOLA Beach lifeguard certification, Advanced senior first aid and Advanced CPR certifications, Sydney University accreditation in Bus and Coach Operator, Working With Children’s Check, University degrees in Primary school teaching.

Sean started his business in 2009 by himself with only 6 soft boards, a mobile phone and a booking sheet, fast forward 7 years later with the help of his wife Shelley it has grown into a regional business that employee’s 20 local staff and has licences to teaching surfing in Byron Bay, Tweed Heads and Ballina Shires with a brand new surf hostel and surf hire store in the most central locations in Byron Bay.
Taking Andre 3000 from Outkast on private surf lessons 3 days prior to his Splendour in the Grass show and hanging backstage at their concert.
Working along side some of the best surf coaches from around the world in multiple countries learning a variety of styles of surf coaching to develop and improve Soul Surf School to where it is today.
Sean and Shelley donate some of their time to the Far North Coast Disabled Surfers Association teaching children with disabilities how to surf! They also love taking intermediate surfers on private lessons and seeing their progression and the enjoyment they get from improving their surfing skills.
Sean has worked really hard to develop the best coaching techniques and staff training manuals to ensure that his new and current staff can provide the best lessons possible to Soul Surf Schools cliental.
